Melancholia Drives Phil Hancock’s Incredibly Moving H8U

Melancholia Drives Phil Hancock’s Incredibly Moving H8U

Phil Hancock’s ambient H8U was influenced by deep heartbreak that spanned a year – and it shows. H8U is the excellent follow up to 2018’s Heaven. The layered track seamlessly blends smooth piano and wistful melodies with deeply melancholic songwriting. The result is a compellingly honest narrative about heartbreak and growth. Simultaneously vulnerable and confident, the song creates a raw and dark atmosphere that’s only heightened by the impressive production. The sad banger genre has found a beguiling star.
