Bruce Mississippi Johnson Explores Self-Doubt with No Good

Bruce Mississippi Johnson’s soulful and deeply textured baritone is the clear highlight of his single “No Good”, but there’s so much more to this bluesy track than that. Bruce’s rich musical heritage is almost immediately obvious from the first seconds of this track, which draws greatly from the Parisian jazz scene, as well as from musicians like Al Green and Lou Rawls. “No Good” was the warm-up act for his album “The Deal Baby”, and this emotionally affecting number offered a hint of just what listeners could expect, with its exquisite exploration of self-doubt.
